During Prorogation
While prorogation terminates all legislative business in the House, Private Members’ bills (PMBs) are unique, for they are simply put on pause until the House resumes. Private Members’ bills from the House do not need to be reintroduced in a new session, for the House recognizes that a bill reached a certain stage prior to prorogation. However, if prorogation occurred in the middle of a certain stage, the bill then must restart that stage when the House resumes.
In the Event of an Election
All business of the House is wiped from the Legislative agenda when an election is called. If this Private Member's Bill does not pass before the next election, it is my intention to introduce it again if I have the honour of being chosen to represent Battle River--Crowfoot once more.
